The Minister of Mining and the China Minmetals Corporation held a strategic working meeting.
The Honorable Louis Vabamba, the Minister of Mines of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, held a strategic meeting with China Minmetals Corporation (the parent company of MMG's Jinseviel Mine) in Beijing on March 24, 2026 during his official visit to the People's Republic of China.

The Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to China, François Balumou, along with the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Mines, the Director of the General Bureau of Mining Cadastre, and the Director of the National Geological Bureau of the Congo, all attended this meeting.

The main focus of the exchange between the two parties was on the expansion of the group's business in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
So far, the group has invested over 600 million US dollars in two years, creating nearly 4,000 jobs and developing long-term industrial processing capabilities.

Furthermore, the group expressed its intention to acquire new mining rights and hoped to establish technical cooperation with the Congolese National Geological Bureau in order to accelerate the discovery of new mineral deposits.
On this occasion, the Minister of Mines reaffirmed the government's strategic priorities, namely: strengthening geological exploration; achieving local processing of resources; creating sustainable employment; and enhancing the participation of the Congolese people in the mining value chain.

This visit represents a crucial step for the Democratic Republic of the Congo in establishing a comprehensive mining industry platform. This platform will be constructed based on productive investment, local value addition of resources, and sustainable development of the industry.
