The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) accelerated the launch of the National Development Bank
FINACTU was recently commissioned by the DRC's Ministry of Finance to help the DRC establish the National Development Bank, which aims to support the growth of the national economy by improving access to finance for DRC companies and financing structures for public and private projects.
FINACTU, founded in 1999 and made up of companies based in Geneva, Paris, Dubai and Casablanca, is an Africa-focused advisory group specialising in strategic and operational advice as well as corporate finance.
Geraldine MERMOUX, deputy general manager of FINACTU, said: "From the very beginning, the DRC Finance Ministry has demanded the highest standards from the new development bank.
This is a particularly demanding international benchmark and we have achieved it in order to win the support of all stakeholders in the financing of the DRC economy."
Since January 26, 2016, the DRC government has proposed the creation of five specialized banks in its "28 emergency measures to stabilize and restore the National economy" : an agricultural bank, a mortgage bank, a small and medium Enterprise development bank, a national investment Fund, and the Industrial Promotion Fund (FPI) Transformation.
But these specialist banks have yet to be created.
