Representatives from the sports community of the Congo gathered together to attend the presentation of the "Olympic Campus" (Campus olympique) project. This infrastructure plan is within the framework of the city expansion in Kinshasa and aims to enhance athlete training, talent discovery, and preparation efforts.

The project promotion meeting was held in Kinshasa on Thursday, July 9, 2026. This seminar brought together numerous representatives from the sports field, including representatives from the Congolese Olympic Committee, various sports associations, NBA Africa (NBA in Africa), and the Ministry of Sports. 

During the meeting, the project leader presented the various components of the "Olympic Campus" for the future, including a sports college, training facilities, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, and a sports medicine center. It was announced that the first basketball court will commence construction within the next three months. 

The two parties also exchanged views on the financing, management and maintenance methods of the infrastructure, in order to ensure its sustainable operation. 

Furthermore, the participants also discussed the specific mechanisms through which all the sports-related parties would be involved in the implementation of this plan. 

As part of the "Kia Mona" urban expansion project in Kinshasa, the future "Olympic Campus" is designed to become a model base for the discovery and training of young talents in various sports. It will also provide facilities for hosting domestic and international events, and contribute to the development of sports in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the training of athletes.
