Tshisekedi visits China with his wife and 10 government members, meets Chinese President and visits Chinese tech giants

Congo (Kinshasa) Presidential Palace reported that President Tshisekedi left Kinshasa late at night on May 23 for a four-day state visit to China, accompanied by his wife Denis Nyak.

It is reported that the Chinese President will have a one-on-one meeting with Tshisekedi on May 26.

Tshisekedi expressed his desire to discuss with the Chinese President the revitalization of the bilateral relations between the two countries, the promotion of the China-Congo strategic partnership, and the realization of new results that are in the interests of the two peoples.

November 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of relations between China and Congo. In a telephone conversation with the Chinese President, Tshisekedi expressed his hope to continuously deepen the traditional relationship between the two countries and promote cooperation between the two countries.

Tshisekedi said that in addition to meetings with senior Chinese leaders, more time will be devoted to economic exchanges with the business community.

After the trip to Beijing, Tshisekedi plans to travel to Shanghai, Hong Kong and Shenzhen. In Shenzhen, he will visit the Chinese technology giant Huawei, and the Ministry of Digital Affairs of the Democratic Republic of the Congo plans to sign a cooperation agreement with Huawei.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Jean-Pierre Bemba, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Chris Lutondula, Minister of Environment Eve Bazaba, Minister of Finance Nicola Gazadi, Minister of Mines Antoine Tshisekedi will be accompanied by ten members of the central government, including Wanet Nsamba, Minister of Digital Eberland Kolongler, and Minister of Communications and Media Patrick Muyaya.
